Battle Beast return with ‘Steelbound’, a powerhouse seventh album that cements their reputation as one of Europe’s finest modern metal acts. From razor-sharp riffs to disco-metal grooves, Noora Louhimo and company deliver another adrenaline-charged masterpiece. If there’s one band in modern metal who refuse to stay in a single lane, it’s Battle Beast. With ‘Steelbound’, their seventh studio album, the Finnish six-piece once again prove that their blend of high-energy metal, melodic hooks, and theatrical flair is utterly unstoppable. Having built a reputation as one of the most entertaining live bands on the planet, this new record takes that electric stage energy and translates it into a studio triumph.
Opening track ‘The Burning Within’ sets the tone from the start—fiery, bold, and dripping with intent. The riff work bites harder than on previous releases, adding a tougher metallic edge while still keeping that signature melodic sheen. It’s an instant reminder that Battle Beast can balance brute force with a singalong sensibility that makes their music so addictive.
Frontwoman Noora Louhimo continues to reign supreme. Her voice is one of the most commanding in the modern scene – equal parts power and precision. Whether she’s belting out an anthemic chorus or snarling through a verse, she owns every second of the record. ‘Here We Are’ brings that familiar Battle Beast swagger, combining fist-pumping rhythm with synth-driven shimmer. It’s a track that borders on disco metal, full of glitter and groove, proving once again the band’s confidence in blurring boundaries.
The title track, ‘Steelbound’, hits a different gear—a punchy, anthemic rocker that blends dual vocals and melodic guitar lines. It’s one of those songs that’s made for arena stages, bursting with energy and defiance. Just when you think it’s done, the band unleash a blistering finale that sends the energy levels soaring. The middle section of the album showcases Battle Beast’s playful side. ‘Twilight Cabaret’ is exactly as flamboyant as it sounds—funky, colourful, and brimming with character. Then comes ‘Last Goodbye’, which shifts tone into something darker and heavier, a vocal showcase where Noora sounds like she’s taking on the world and winning.
‘The Long Road’ provides a brief yet elegant symphonic interlude, a cinematic breather before the album roars back with ‘Blood Of Heroes’, a colossal power metal epic destined to become a fan favourite. This track alone proves that Battle Beast can still summon that larger-than-life magic—galloping rhythms, soaring choruses, and goosebump-inducing emotion. From there, ‘Angel Of Midnight’ dips back into AOR territory, offering melody-rich harmonies and a lighter, nostalgic mood. But the band aren’t done surprising us yet—‘Riders Of The Storm’ throws in Viking energy with a danceable groove, the kind of track that demands audience participation. Imagine an arena full of fists, chants, and pure chaos—Battle Beast are built for moments like this.
Finally, ‘Watch The Sky Fall’ closes ‘Steelbound’ on a high. It encapsulates everything fans love about this band: towering vocals, cinematic arrangements, and an unwavering sense of joy in the act of making metal.
What makes ‘Steelbound’ so compelling is how effortlessly Battle Beast weave together so many styles—classic heavy metal, AOR, symphonic grandeur, even funk and disco—all without losing their identity. It’s bold, it’s fun, and it’s executed with precision and passion.
Noora Louhimo and her bandmates have long since proven they can deliver big hooks and even bigger performances, but this album takes their sound to new heights. It’s a reminder that Battle Beast don’t just play metal—they celebrate it. Whatever corner of the rock and metal spectrum you come from, there’s something here that’ll hit you right in the heart.
With ‘Steelbound’, Battle Beast have forged another absolute monster of an album. Expect it to dominate playlists, ignite stages, and keep their unstoppable momentum roaring well into 2026.
