Review By Darren McIntyre
Confess are a sleaze/metal band from Stockholm, Sweden, who originally formed in 2008, and although they have gone through some changes in personnel, they have kept the music their focus. The boys brought us Lights Out in 2011, Jail in 2014 and Burn Em All in 2020, and they deliver album no. 4, Metalmorphosis, on the 15th May. This is a bold step forward in both sound & attitude, which delivers relentless energy, driving riffs and a powerful sonic punch that refuses to hold back. The boys drop the epic power-drenched Metalmorphosis on us today; please sit back as I bring you this thundering new single.
Metalmorphosis – The track begins with a sweet, melodic guitar pick as we await the eruption that is coming for us as the cymbal crashes rain down on us. The sizzling, crisp guitar riffs are coming at us with a real vengeful roar as the thundering rhythm section kicks in the doors and brings us a twin bass kick salvo that gets the juices flowing. This is a pure symphonic sleaze track that brings cool, mellow vocals that flow freely through the arrangement as we get a full-on bustling bassline that hits us with a real meaty, punchy groove that works so well in this cool composition. The tempo changes pace a little as we have synth tones weaving their way through the track as the twin guitar licks break free and really offload with a real vengeful riff; the track is hitting us from all sides and then some. We are getting a galloping, gritty guitar riff that allows the soaring, gravelly vocals to grab us by the throat and really tell us what’s going on with this colossal offering.
