Marco Pastorino has no “off switch.” The multi-talented musician is powerhouse singer, composer and guitarist who is always busy and takes great pride in producing authentic music with limited (if any) technological tricks.
He’s back with Fallen Sanctuary, a group founded with Georg Neuhauser and their sophomore LP, Gathering of Dreams will be released independently on physical formats on Sept. 18, with single digital releases following in monthly intervals.
If you’re a fan of European melodic rock and metal you’re probably already familiar with at least one of Marco Pastorino’s active symphonic, prog or power metal groups: Temperance, Serenity, Virtual Symmetry or Christiano Filippini’s Flames of Heaven.
In most cases, Pastorino is a (or the) primary creative force as guitarist, songwriter and vocalist. On Gathering, he’s front and center again with Neuhauser, as this dynamic vocal duo and backed by tremendous melodic metal musicians who have pushed the limits in the way of speed and precision without sacrificing the songs’ emotional impact.
We talked all about the new album and its many highlights and the upside risk of releasing music independently. As you will see, Marco is one of the most jovial individuals you can meet.
We also discuss the upcoming Temperance release, Arcani, on Oct. 16 and the excitement for their upcoming EU tour with Kamelot.
