Gorilla Riot are a dirty / Southern / grungy / country / blues rock band from Manchester, England, who originally formed in 2013. The band is known for its dual-pronged guitar attack with multi-part vocal harmonies; they play raucous blues-based rock, combining elements of grunge, stoner & country to create a full-on high-energy sonic experience. The band has given us the EP American Honey Vol. 1 in 2019 and Solace in 2021 and the LPs Peach in 2020 & Salvation in 2025. The band is on the road right now, and tonight they thunder into Glasgow @ G2 to bring us an opening slot of blues-tinged rock ‘n’ roll that will surely get this packed crowd all warm and fuzzy inside. as the house lights dim & the PA fades, the band saunter onto the stage and kick off with –

Kerosene Clown – The track kicks off with a real gritty, raspy guitar riff as Arjun leans in with his cool, gravel-soaked vocals as this bruiser comes to life as the place welcomes this cool outfit from Manchester. The added backing vocals from Luci add depth and a little swagger to this opening salvo as the band quickly settles into its stride; the twin guitar assault is just kicking ass as the band brings the sleazy groove to Glasgow tonight as we enjoy this opening number. The rhythm section is commanding the room with its punchy snare/bass kicks that let the cymbal taps complete the beat; a crunching, dirty solo comes at us as Arjun lets us feel the energy pouring from the stage tonight as we settle in and get ready for the upcoming onslaught from this killer outfit as we roll into –

Still Doing Time – A kick-ass, foot-stomping groove oozes from the stage as a cool, mellow bassline drops in and really gets the juices flowing as this awesome track gets down and dirty. The added backing vocals really let the track breathe as the boys come together and hit us with this epic twin guitar assault as we stamp our feet to this gritty rock ‘n’ roll beast. As it grabs our attention, the place is singing along and really letting the band know that they feel the groove wrapping itself around Glasgow tonight. The rhythm section is coming for us with a punchy snare/bass beat as the cymbal crashes rain down on us to let this incredible arrangement flow. Arjun is leaning in and letting his awesome vocals lead the way as this fist-pumping track leaves its mark upon the fine folk of Glasgow tonight. up next –

Most Wanted – A kick-ass bass kick lets this track break free as Arjun brings a little slide guitar action to us tonight as the mellow, soulful vocals wander freely through the intro as the band shifts through the gears with this real, thought-provoking track. The backing vocals really elevate the track as we feel the depth flowing through the track as we settle into this real gutsy, dark, brooding number as the band settles into their stride and hits us with all they have. Arjun is looking every inch the rock star with his cool hat as he belts out the vocals that grab our attention as the rhythm section kicks in with a real solid snare punch that lets the cymbal crashes leave their mark on this awesome track. The killer twin guitar assault is just awesome, and it mixes really well with the funking, meaty bassline that is wrapping itself around this real delicious piece as the band just peels back the layers and lets us feel the energy oozing from every member of the outfit. up next –

Last Hymn – Arjun leans in and kicks off this gritty, rocking track with a cool guitar lick that allows him to bring in his awesome vocals that just settle into the track as the rhythm section kicks down the doors and hits us with a bass kick that fills every corner of this venue. The place is just feeling the love pouring from the stage as the band brings a real sludgy, dirty groove to the fine folk of Glasgow tonight; the funking bassline is hitting us with a real dark, brooding, delicious beat that allows this track to really grab a hold of us as the band shifts through the gears and really brings the blues to us tonight. The place is just feeling the love as Luci leans in and brings her soulful backing tones to this incredible track as the band prowls around the stage and lets us feel the energy oozing from every member of this killer outfit. the soaring guitar solo is just bubbling under the surface as we get all warm and fuzzy inside as this cool rockin’ outfit really tells their own story as we drop into –

Half Cut – Arjun gets the track up and running with a cool, sleazy guitar lick that is full of depth, swagger and attitude as his dark, brooding vocals let the groove wander freely through the track tonight. The rhythm section is coming at us with a real solid snare/bass beat that allows the track to build and really tell its own story. The cool, meaty bassline is dropping in and giving us a real solid, dark tone that wraps itself around this colossal track that is just building and building as the foot-stomping groove kicks ass. The band are really enjoying themselves as they dig deep and bring us a real crunching, gritty track that lets us throw our fists in the air as the band really shifts through the gears and hits us with a cool, slick, crisp guitar solo that really shows us the band is building in stature and letting us know that they are here and here to stay. up next –

Running With the Enemy – A cool, punchy snare beat wanders through the intro as a sweet, melodic guitar lick lets the track build as the place watches the stage and lets the groove roam free. The band are just smiling from ear to ear as this foot-stomping rock ‘n’ roller kicks off and really lets the groove wrap itself around us as the band leans in and lets us feel the energy pouring from every member tonight; the raspy, gritty, soulful vocals really grab us and let us feel the sheer power flowing effortlessly through the track as the band just brings us a cool, meaty groove that just sizzles, let me tell you. The sweet, crisp guitar fills are awesome as they let us feel the depth coming from the stage as they rip through this colossal track that is just wrapping itself around the venue as Arjun lets his incredible vocals lead the way in this fist-pumping beast that really lets the groove weave its way through this awesome venue as the band digs deep and really brings their A-game tonight and one that won’t let us forget them in a hurry. The place is really taking this outfit to their hearts as a slick, crisp solo erupts and lets us stamp our feet to this gutsy, rasping beauty that’s coming at us right now. up next –

Bad Son – The band finishes off with this classy track that lets the cymbal taps wander freely through the intro as Arjun leans in and lets us feel the heat that is about to erupt from the stage tonight. The rhythm section is just commanding the room as it hits us with a real kick-ass bass/snare beat that really lets the groove open and tell its own story. The soaring, gritty vocals are weaving their way through the venue as the band shifts through the gears and really delivers a well-thought-out groover that is the perfect way to finish their opening slot. The dark, delicious bassline is dropping in and hitting us with a real cool groove that just flows freely through the track as we feel the energy coming from the band tonight as they finish on a real high with this energetic, rockin’ bruiser that just ticks all the boxes as it builds and builds with ease as the place claps along and feels the groove grabbing us and giving us a real good shake – a kick-ass opening act and one that just keeps getting better and better.
