Review By Darren McIntyre
Robert Jon & The Wreck are a 5 – piece Southern Rock n Roll juggernaut band from Orange County, Southern California who came to our attention in 2011, they have been steadily building a loyal fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic with their electrifying shows that capture what these boys are all about. The boys have given us 8 studio albums and a bucketload of singles that have allowed the boys to deliver the best sound to capture our hearts, the heartfelt lyrics, dynamic stage presence and rockin riffs have steadily cemented them as a real force of nature and a band you don’t want to miss when they hit the touring circuit, the boys are about to hit the UK. The boys bring us Wreckage Vol 3 that is hitting us with a slew of singles for sure but they have changes it up a little with the arrival of focus track Arroyo that sees the boys dig deep and bring us a groovier, meatier sound that just lets us know that these boys are kicking it up a notch. Please join me as I take us through this blistering new offering.
Arroyo – We kick things off with a pumping rhythm that really gets the juices flowing as the foot stomping gritty groover builds with ease as the boys put us through our paces. The soulful, melodic vocals are easing their way through the arrangement as the tempo grabs our attention as the track quickly leaves it’s mark upon us, the twin guitar licks are quietly letting us know that this track has heart, soul and plenty in the tank as we feel the energy pulsing through the music. The funky, foot stomping keys really elevate the track as the punchy groove grabs our attention and tells us that the boys are firing on all cylinders for sure, we have my man Warren on bass dropping all sorts of low end tones that just wrap themselves around this incredible number that just puts a smile on your face for sure. The tempo is sharp, groovy and has a certain funk that lets us know that Robert Jon are tearing through all comers as they make their way back to our shores for some more live shows in the near future.Robert Jon & The Wreck –
