Reece Young – ‘I Wouldn’t’: Alt-Pop With Something To Prove

Reece Young continues to make his presence felt with ‘I Wouldn’t’, a confident new single that sees the alt-pop newcomer stepping further into a sound that feels both personal and increasingly assured.

Following the momentum of ‘Nothing At All’ and the emotional weight of ‘Lights Out’, ‘I Wouldn’t’ explores that uncomfortable space between fault and failure. There is vulnerability here, but it never comes across as self-pitying. Instead, Young turns uncertainty into something energetic, immediate and ultimately relatable.

Musically, the track draws on the emotional intensity of VOILA and the infectious, anthemic instincts associated with Twenty One Pilots. The result is modern alt-pop with plenty of bite, balancing melody and atmosphere while retaining a sense of urgency.

What stands out most is the feeling that Young is an artist still discovering exactly how far his sound can go. Rather than playing it safe, he is pushing forward, and that ambition gives ‘I Wouldn’t’ its appeal.
