Jayler are a young 4 piece rock n roll juggernaut from the Midlands who burst onto the scene in 2022 and delivered us their debut EP ‘A Piece In Our Time in 2023. The boys have been slaying in with gigs up and down the country honing their craft and delighting audiences with their raw, live shows that has started to get people talking, the boys crash land right here in Glasgow @ Oran Mor to bring us an opening salvo that reminds us of early Zep, AC / DC, Aerosmith and a boyish Greta Van Fleet, look out for their debut album due to drop summer 2024, tonight though belongs to this 4 piece as they set out their stall and kick in the doors with their opener
Acid Rain – A real sludgy grunge style opening lets these boys introduce themselves as this rocking 4 piece kick off their short but power packed set with this killer number. There is a real slick guitar shred running through the main vein of this killer track as the rhythm section commands the room with punchy snare drum beats as the cymbal snaps control the groove as the deep meaty bassline drops in and gives us a nice funky feeling tone that just wraps itself around this rumbling opener. James brings a real coming of age vocal that sounds like these boys have been trudging the circuit for years, the tempo changes pace as we get a haunting mellow mid section that suddenly changes with a slick sizzling solo that really catches our attention as this killer opener really smacks us in the face, the boys take the applause and introduce themselves before they slide into
No Woman – This is a real crowd pleaser as the crunching guitar led anthem really hits home as the boys come for us with a deep punchy vibe that just lifts the tempo right here in Glasgow tonight. The foot stomping rock n roller track has a cool rocking groove as the boys settle into their set and just enjoy the moment as we get a slick guitar riff that has a pounding rhythm section for company, we are witnessing a real killer band on the rise as they bring us good ol 80’s style rock n roll with a nice grungy, edgy feel that has us stamping our feet to this infectious beat that really lets these boys express themselves,bass grooves are wrapping themselves around this soulful moody piece that really catches everyone’s attention, up next
When You Go – This is a real cool track that allows James to bring us a pop vibe inspired track that launches with a real heavy lick that lets the boys break out. They have come a long way since their inception and have grown in stature with cool riffs with catchy hooks and musicianship that just melts faces along the way, the rhythm section is bringing us a deep, heavy assault that has snare drum punches that drop into this foot stomping rock n roll beast as the boys deliver a snarling groove that has caught everyone’s attention and as I look out at the crowd I can see that they are really enjoying this incredible set from this young, energetic 4 piece that has just taken Glasgow by storm tonight, the place erupts in a hail of applause as the boys thank us for our time in coming to watch them do their thing, up next
The Getaway(New) – The boys drop in a new offering that just delivers a piercing riff that lets this beast rear it’s head as the boys bring the groove to Glasgow with a sharp, rocking groove laden assault. The thundering rhythm section is really driving these boys onwards as the tempo builds with a pulsing bassline that wraps itself around this snarling new offering. The place is buzzing with awesome licks and a cool rasping vocal that just catches us off guard as young James struts his stuff all over Oran Mor tonight, the boys are smiling from ear to ear as they set about gaining some new admirers right her tonight and they need not worry as we have already welcomed them to the rock n roll family of Scotland, they are buzzing from the reception as we move onto
Love Maker – This was a track that really brought these boys to our attention as it drove right through the venue with it’s real sludgy groove that was a killer piece of magical proportions. These boys may be young but they sound like seasoned pro’s as they btrought us a tingling rock show that had everything in it as they dropped epic solos with pounding grooves that just took us to somewhere new. The boys were enjoying this outing and I was lucky enough to catch up with the boys before they tool to the stage to get the lowdown on Jayler and what is next for this energetic rock n roll 4 piece. The track was an attack on the senses as they dropped killer grooves and soaring vocals that just reminded us of a young Plant as he strode around the stage posing for the crowd which brought a huge cheer, as we catch our breathe the boys thank us for spending time with them tonight and hope they see us again real soon, coming at us is last track of the set
The Rinsk – A powerful way to end tonight’s show with a real cool intro that just lets these boys show us what they are made of as the crowd shows their appreciation. The groove is a real foot stomping beat that just allows the boys to breal out and have some fun as they show us their mettle with searing riffs and a punchy rhythm section that is kicking ass with it’s thundering groove. The soaring vocals are wrapping themselves around us tonight as the boys come together to really let us feel the energy oozing from this ones to watch in the future, the energy is awesome as they deliver a crunching finale to a power packed set that just tells us that these boys are one for the future as they hone their skillset and let us feel the rawness oozing from this colossal 4 piece.
