Single – Joyrider
Release Date – 29th December 25
Review by Linda McDermott
We Three Kings are a band who know exactly what they’re about and stick to it. Their take on modern rock ’n’ roll is raw, punchy, and built around fuzzed-up big riffs that get straight to the point. There’s a gritty blues-rock edge running through everything they do, with tight, sharp, energetic bursts that connect.

Made up of Rich on vocals and guitar, with Pete holding things down on drums, they keep things stripped back and heavy. The result is a riff-driven sound that sits comfortably alongside bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood, Wolfmother, and Rival Sons, as a duo who understand the power of keeping things lean and loud. Live is where We Three Kings really step it up. Their shows are no-frills, high-energy affairs that hit hard from start to finish, and they’ve been steadily making their mark across the UK rock and festival circuit.
Joyrider is the third single to be released from We Three Kings’ forthcoming second studio album, ‘Stone Cold Kiss’ (due out in the spring of 2026).
Following on from November’s release ‘Your Love Is My Disease’, which gained rave reviews from fans and press alike, this track delivers more of the high-energy, no-nonsense, fuzzed-up rock & roll that the band are renowned for.
With a huge guitar riff, pounding drums and a soaring vocal melody that is a surefire earworm, ‘Joyrider’ is a full-throttle, in-your-face signpost of what is still to come from We Three Kings. Kicking off with heavy drums, the track wastes no time in setting the pace, building momentum from the start. As the groove locks in and the vocals arrive, it becomes a proper head-nodder, pulling you into its energy. From that point on, you’re fully invested not just in the track itself, but in the sound and attitude behind it.
There’s a real sense of drive running through every section, with the power pushed right to the front rather than buried under layers. The riffs are tight and purposeful, the rhythm section keeps things moving at a pace, and everything feels like it’s been designed to hit hard without overstaying its welcome. It’s straightforward rock music done well, and that confidence shines through. The chorus seals the deal. It’s catchy and easy to latch onto; it kind of sticks after a single listen, even with me! You can already picture it being shouted back at the band during their live sets, turning a strong studio track into an even bigger crowd moment on stage. Another great track from Rich and Pete.
