Review by Linda McDermott
Formed in South Yorkshire in late 2019, Dead Demons are a four-piece heavy rock and metal band bringing grit, power, and passion to every stage they step onto. Known for their relentless work ethic and full-throttle live performances, the band have steadily built a loyal fanbase across the UK.
Since their debut, Dead Demons have carved out a strong reputation on the live circuit, appearing at major events including Call of the Wild, SOS Festival, Mountains of Metal and SavFest. Along the way they’ve shared stages with respected names such as Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Wolfsbane, The Treatment, Fury, Absolva and Blaze Bayley, proving they can more than hold their own alongside established acts.
A new chapter began in 2024 with the arrival of lead singer Paul Lowson, bringing a fresh creative spark and a renewed sense of momentum. Their 2025 singles Evolution and Fight Back and their 2026 release Where There’s A Will There’s A Way, highlight the band’s heavy yet hook-driven sound, giving listeners a taste of what Dead Demons are capable of, while hinting that there is plenty more still to come.
They are:
Paul Lowson- Vocals
Chris Weatherall – Guitar
Pete Harriman- Bass
Jonny Booth – Drums
The latest single If We Could Reach You carries a clear message of connection, reaching out to fans and new grassroots music lovers alike. To me it feels built for the live environment, inviting listeners to get involved from the first few bars.
Musically, the song has everything you’d hope for from a modern heavy metal release. Musically it has driving riffs from Chris, strong melodies, layered harmonies, and Jonny and Pete keeping the bass and a beat that has the whole song moving forward with purpose. It opens with a solid burst of guitars and drums, building tension before Paul’s vocals arrive and push the track into full stride.

The harmonies add real depth to the arrangement, creating moments where listeners can easily latch onto the chorus. Midway through, the track shifts up another gear, adding a touch more drama before breaking into an instrumental section that allows the guitar work to shine. The playing is tight, confident, and full of character without ever feeling overdone. Vocally, Paul brings a distinctive tone that suits the band’s sound perfectly. There’s power there when needed, but it never feels forced. Instead,
he lets the natural strength and range of his voice carry the performance, giving the track a strong finish.
If We Could Reach You is a confident step forward for Dead Demons and another sign that this South Yorkshire outfit are continuing to build momentum.
