Review By Darren McIntyre
Strale are a melodic metal band from Helsinki, Finland, who originally formed in 2009 and combine Scandinavian melancholy, modern metal power and cinematic emotion. The band have gone through a transitional period, and they have recorded their new EP, Reformation, which marks a new era for Strale – musically and emotionally as a band. The boys drop their fantastic new single, The Flame, which I will be reviewing for you today. Please sit back and ready yourself for a trip through the inside minds of this awesome new song.
-paced,The Flame – A pounding rhythm section oozes from the off as the synth tones ripple into the track as the melancholy vocals lean in and let the track breath as the tempo changes pace and erupts with a sizzling guitar riff that really grabs our attention. The cool bass kicks allow the groove to flow as a funky, dark bassline drops in and wraps itself around this crunching monster as we feel the energy roaring from the get-go, the tempo is growing as the cool synth keys let the track express itself as a slick, crisp guitar solo explodes and lets the band really express themselves as we get melodic vocals that really elevate this awesome arrangement as we get to grips with the boys as they take us through the motions of this fast paced, punchy groove piece that tells us that the boys are back and are armed with a new vigour that has us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
