Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast – Live – St Luke’s & The Winged Ox-Solid Entertainment

Review By Darren McIntyre

Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast are an Americana/roots rock band currently residing in Asheville, North Carolina, born in Detroit & raised in New York City. The band draw their influence from the sound of East Coast rock ‘n’ roll & roots music; the band have shared the stage with the likes of Mavis Staples, Marcus King, Blackberry Smoke, The Avett Brothers, Greta Van Fleet & Robert Jon & The Wreck. The band has given us EP Blueprints, and later this year they will bring us their debut LP Heirloom. Tonight they roll into Glasgow as an acoustic duo with husband Aaron to bring us an unforgettable night of soulful, blues-soaked songs that will really grab your attention. The set begins with a nice twist as the duo have Elles Bailey reading us a bedtime story (reference to Elles missing bedtime with her kids); she reads lines from a poem that lead into the introduction of Caitlin & Aaron as they take their place centre stage and tell us what an honour it is to play for the best fans in the world. this brings a huge cheer from the crowd as they slip into –

Drown In My Own Tears (Ray Charles Cover) – A nice soft guitar tone weaves its way through the track as Caitlin unleashes her inner blues vocals that just take this track to another place for sure.
