Fireheart – Release an Anthem of Resilience

Single – Back To The Truth

Release Date – 23rd Oct 26

Review by Linda McDermott

Fireheart are set to release “Back to the Truth” on 23 October, the first single from their forthcoming debut album. Recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Florence Black at Blackline Studios in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, the single marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band, bringing together music, personal stories, and visual art.

This first release tells the story of rhythm guitarist Kev Baker, with “Back to the Truth” tackling mental struggles, isolation and self-doubt, but at its heart, it is a song about resilience and finding the strength to keep going when life gets tough. It explores those moments when you withdraw from the people around you, lose sight of who you are and begin to believe your own doubts. However, it is also about recognising that your worst day does not define you, and that even the smallest steps forward count. It is about accepting your scars, being honest with yourself and finding the courage to keep showing up, even when things feel difficult.

“Back to the Truth” is an anthem that sucks you in, with a great melody and harmonies that make you want to join in. I can already envisage Fireheart performing this live, singing it loud and clear, as the crowd sways along and joins in with the chorus. There’s something about the way the song draws you in that makes it easy to imagine it becoming a real favourite with fans when played live.

All Fireheart’s songs have a powerful message and an energy to them, and this track is no exception, but I feel it has just a little more edge to it. The guitars are particularly powerful, working alongside Russ’s vocals to give the song real impact, while the bass and drums keep the rhythm driving forward. For me, it’s the soaring lead guitar solos that really brings everything together, adding another layer of emotion and reinforcing the feeling behind the song.

Fireheart’s music has always carried an important message around mental health, reminding people that they are not alone in their struggles, and “Back to the Truth” is emotionally charged with a strong sense of resilience. It’s a song that encourages you to keep going, even when things get tough, and those feelings come through in the music as much as the lyrics.

Russ’s vocals are powerful, but I like the fact that they’re not rushed. The lyrics are delivered at a pace that allows you to take them in and connect with the message, while the harmonies give the chorus an anthemic feel that makes you want to sing along. With its slightly heavier edge, powerful vocals, and soaring guitar solos, “Back to the Truth” makes a strong statement for Fireheart as they prepare to release their debut album.
