Dewolff are psychedelic power trio from Limburg, The Netherlands, Deep South who formed in 2007 and bring us a fusion groove with a killer beat that just lets you lose yourself and feel the energy that these boys bring. The boys have given us Strange Fruits & Undiscovered Plants 2009, Orchards / Lupine 2011, Dewolff 2012, Grand Southern Electric 2014, Roux-Ga-Roux 2016, Thrust 2018, Tascam Tapes 2020, Wolffpack 2021, Double Cream 2022, Love, Death & In Between 2023 and they are just about to unleash their new offering Muscle Shoals upon us. To coincide with this new album the boys are heading out on tour and again we find ourselves in the splendid Voodoo Rooms in Auld Reekie, the place is filling up nicely as the boys bounce on stage and bellow out ‘this is something special is it not which brings a loud cheer. the boys again thank us for coming before they launch into –


Night Train – Pablo bellows out are we ready for some rock n roll as the super cool Hammond style keys fill this splendid place as the track bursts into life as the rhythm section brings the heat as the boys strap in ans let us feel the groove. Pablo’s vocals are gravelly with depth and real soul that lets this incredible groove laden beast tell it’s own story, the trio are already proving their worth as the place is feeling the love from this awesome power bending trio. The rhythm section is commanding the room as Luca pounds on the skins and lets us feel the attitude pulsing through this grand venue tonight as Pablo swaggers around the stage and lets us have it both barrels. Guitar licks are spilling out all over the stage as this fantastic trio give us what we came for tonight, psychedelic blues with truckloads of rock n roll thrown in for good measure, the place erupts with loud hollers, and cheers as Pablo smiles from ear to ear as the boys take the plaudits from this swelling audience as they roll into –


In Love – We have asnare drum roll as Pablo steps up to the mic and unleashes his soaring, blues soaked vocals that are mixing so well with the Hammond keys that are flowing freely through the intro. A crunching guitar riff oozes from the stage as the melodic number erupts and lets the boys shift through the gears and really give us an electrifying track that befits this majectic venue, the rhythm section is commanding the groove with a cool snare drum punch that lets the cymbal crashes rain down on us as they deliver a rasping, groove filled arrangement that just takes the roof off of this place tonight. We have delicious, mellow Hammond keys that are just lighting up the room as the boys set out their stall and really give us a cool mellow, blues, rock beat that just puts a smile on your face, Pablo asks the question have you ever been in love and we bellow back Yes and I can tell you this is one of the loudest crowds I have witnessed right here in Auld Reekie, as we feel the groove wrap itself around us we get that warm, fuzzy feeling from these three powering musicians as we roll into –


Natural Woman – Pablo steps up an unleashes a stonking, gritty groove lick that allows the punchy rhythm section lean in and bring us a real killer groove that has bass kicks, cymbal taps that let the track grow as the cool Hammond keys flow freely through this awesome piece, the toe tapping groove is just awesome and I can tell you this trio are tight, precise and really know how to put on a show as they deliver a no nonsense beat that lets the slick, clean guitar solo ripple through the venue as the place just goes nuts for this exciting band that just get better every time we see them. Pablo lets the vocals loose as they fill every corner of this colossal building and we really feel the energy oozing from the stage, the place is jTreasure City Moonchild – Pablo steps forward and tinkles on the strings as he lets us go on the journey with him as he offloads with a salvo of licks that just stop us in our tracks. The rhythm section is helping out as it hits us with snare drum beats that deliver a cool killer beat that just allows this track the room it needs to grow, The bass kicks are letting this funking monster loose as the slick, crisp guitar licks build and build as we ready ourselves to be dazzled by this incredible trio as the track explodes with a wall of keys and pounding drums that are wrapped in delicious guitar riffs that really awaken the senses as these boys give it to us and then some.


The boys are singing in harmony as Luca pounds on the skins as Pablo rips up the playbook and just shreds at the front of the stage and really dazzles us with his intense playing that is off the scale, we move to the business end of tonight’s entertainment as the boys ready us for the epic beast that is, oh wait Pablo goes walkabout in the crowd and has a chat and picks up a beer and tells us a real personal story of his wife and how he has been with his beautiful wife for 16 years which draws a huge cheer, anyway onwards to -ust rockin and rollin as we are getting a real show stopping gig that will be hard to top let me tell you, the place erupts in a wall of applause as we slip into –

R U My Savior – Normal service is resumed as a cool funkilicious groove pours from the stage as the boys dig deep and bring the heat right to us tonight. The rhythm section is giving us smooth punchy snare drum beats that bring cymbal crashes raining down on us as the uber cool keys just take your breathe away with their depth and precision as the place is hotting up and really giving us what we came for tonight a fusion groove that is littered with soulful vocals, sweet keys and bags and bags of funkadelic soul laden riffs that really just take the roof off of this splendid venue tonight. if you missed tonight’s show shame on you as these boys are just incredible as they saunter through this well crafted set and really think about their musicality as they grow with every track that is coming to us tonight, we are just in awe on these boys as they rip through a colossal setlist that is full of chunky grooves, delicious riffs all wrapped in pounding drum fills that will leave us wanting more, up next –

Snowbird – Cool, haunting keys ooze from the intro as the sweet, mellow rhythm leans in and really gives this track swagger, soul and depth as we ready ourselves for this epic number, The whole arrangement just transports us to another place as we get lost in the musicality that lets Pablo bring his gravelly, soulful vocals that just elevate the track to another lever let me tell you. The incredible groove just lets us settle in and keep our eyes fixed on the stage as the boys go about their business and really bring us a swashbuckling track that allows the boys to really open up and deliver a thought provoking, blues soaked groove track that really kicks ass, this is just a cool, funky night out that is not to be missed as the boys really deliver a fusion night that bends us one way then the next as they reach deep into their souls and bring us a night full of colossal tones that make us feel something special. The boys are really giving us what we came for tonight- a real spectacle of a show that ticks all the boxes as we get into our groove and feel the music wrap itself around us as the place just goes insane for this power trio that packs a punch let me tell you, the boys thank us again for coming out to support them on their quest for world domination as a colossal keys solo bursts out and really gives us goosebumps from the off as it twists us one way then the next as we hurtle into –


War Pigs(Black Sabbath Cover) – Straight into the classic cover as the soothing, dark riffs ring out as the punchy snare drum beats combine with cymbal crashes as this incredible arrangement comes at us. Pablo lets his soulful, deep, melodic vocals take the track off down the road as let Luca drive the DeWolff juggernaut through Edinburgh tonight, the funky rendition really puts a swing on things as the killer beats fill the air as the boys put their own twist on things. The slick, crisp guitar licks are bringing us a sludgy, dirty feel as we watch in awe as the boys deliver something special with this mellow performance and it is a real slant on their usual psychedelic groove which is just wonderful. The pounding rhythm section is doing it’s thing as the cool cymbal fills really let the track breathe as the snare drum punches feel so big as Pablo lets his vocals carry the track onwards as punchy beats go into –

Nothing’s Changing – This is a real groover that comes at us with smouldering Hammond keys that just lets the track break free and the punchy rhythm section controls the groove from the back of the room as the boys hit the funkadelic button and off we go with this delicious piece, the slick, sizzling guitar licks are filling every inch of the venue as Pablo steps forward and just hits us with sensational riffs that are kept in line with a funky cymbal snap that is rolling effortlessly through the track as the sizziling keys really let the track breathe as the boys take the show to the next level with their impressive groove that is just keeping us rooted to the spot as the three boys have certainly earned their keep tonight as this mind bending arrangement really keeps our focus as the slick riffs armed with a punchy groove really allows the track to breathe as we tap our feet to this infectious tone that has just blown us away tonight as we get lost in the musicality that has been dished up to us tonight, the boys are thanking us for coming out and bringing some new friends to let them feel the energy, swagger and tone flowing freely from the stage tonight as we flow into the final song of the night –
Rosita –


Ending tonight’s incredible gig is the wonderful track that just fills us with joy as the smooth snare drum beats let this track breathe. The fantastic vocals are filling the room as the keys just erupt and let the groove wash over us as we let Pablo loose as he shreds like there is no tomorrow, the track is a real celebration of psychedelic blues that just sharpens the senses as the boys bring us along for the ride as we just stamp our feet and feel this epic groove take us to somewhere new as we just lose ourselves in this keys rich track that is kicking in with a cool punchy rhythm section that just kicks ass, we get a sweet slick guitar lick that just kicks in the doors and delivers a full on classy guitar riff that is wrapped in the bluesy vocal attack that is just what the doctor ordered tonight, Pablo goes on his usual walk about that just delights the crowd as it is a perfect way to end a colossal night of psychedelic, groove laden melodic rock at it’s finest from this awesome trio that is the gift that keeps on giving let me tell you.
