Lexie is a UK born, Dubai based soul artist who is known for her honest storytelling, raspy tones and charismatic energy on & off stage. Lexie is quickly becoming a global force, in the past year she has supported Tim Gallagher on his European Tour, opened for Take That @ Etihad Staduim Abu Dhabi and has supported The Sugababes on their UK Arena Tour. 2024 sees Lexie release her confessional debut album Diaries Of A Disterous Dating Life, a raw relateable chronicle of romantic misadventures, Lexie brings us her epic new single Plane Jane which I will be reviewing for you today.
Plane Jane – Cool sultry guitar picks open the track as cool snare drum taps let the groove wash over us as we feel the rawness ooze from this fantastic musician. The deep, dark, brooding bassline wraps itself around this cool groove laden track as Lexie leans in and lets her rasping, bluesy vocals give the track a little swagger as we feel the energy pour through this killer track, we get a cool brass section that just elevates the track to another level and it makes you feel like you just walked int a blues club and have been hit with this awesome vocal that stops you in your tracks. The addition of the Hammond style keys really drives this toe tapping, thigh slapping groover onwards as we feel the colossal vocals really let you break free, the punchy cool beat is a real infectious tone that will have you reaching for the repeat button for sure as we just join in with the funk laden beat that has just taken over us and lets us cut loose with the real kick ass tone that has been flowing effortlessly through this classy arrangement.
