I love a good ‘ol fashioned metal album and Darker Half has delivered another powerful entry to the genre with their new LP, The Book Of Fate, available worldwide from Massacre Records. The Australian quartet has picked up where their prior album, If You Only Knew, left off; with anthemic choruses and a range of mid- and fast-tempo paced songs that draw inspiration from timeless folklore — particularly the stories of the Pied Piper of Hamelin and the Wizard delivering an epic narrative set to the band’s trademark heavy and melodic soundscapes.
I had the chance to catch up with singer/guitarist Vo Simpson, his brother and drummer Dom Simpson, and guitarist Danny Ritz just before taking a festival stage.

We talked about how the Book of Fate marks a new chapter for the band as a cohesive songwriting unit and discuss some mutual acquaintances, like Sons of Sounds and Soren Andersen, guitarist for rock icon Glenn Hughes, whom the band will be supporting on an EU tour in September.
