Fury – Interceptor – Fury official Album Review

Fury are a Thrash / Metal band from Worcester, West Midlands, England who originally formed in 2010. The band have given us 16 Singles, 2 EP’s, 1 Live Album & 5 studio Albums which includes their blistering brand new offering Interceptor. The band are regular favourites on the Festival circuit and can be seen regularly tearing up the stages of Festivals including Download, Bloodstock, Urrock, Rising Fest, Call Of The Wild, Maid Of Stone, British Steel Festival & more. Please join me as I ready myself to have my face melted with this colossal new offering from one of Britain’s favourite metal bands.

Interceptor – Ooft from the outset we get a colossal shredding power riffed guitar salvo that just sets the scene for this blistering opening track that instantly blows you away with it’s raw, energetic power that is just awesome. The thundering rhythm section is hitting us with a real punchy double bass kick that allows the pounding snare drum beats to really give this track depth, swagger and bags of attitude, the full on low end is dropping in and really letting this track tell us the full story of Interceptor as the blistering vocals really elevate this thundering rock n roll bruiser track that lets us know that Fury are back baby and firing on all cylinders with this no nonsense, in your face killer track that is full of energy as the musicianship punches us straight in the face with it’s incredible riffs, thundering drum section and melodic guitar licks that will instantly have you reaching for the repeat button as this infectious filled track will have you coming back for more as the growling groover grows on us more and more.

What’s It Gonna Be – Rasping riffs offload from the getgo as this foot stomping, fist punching track erups and lets the soaring vocals lead the charge as the band pick up from the first track and hit us with all they have. The funking rhythm section leans in with a power drenched groove that just kicks in the doors and lets us take this epic track full in the face as we feel the musicality come for us, the tempo changes pace a little as we get a real mellow, soulful beat that just gives this track the drive it needs as the soaring vocals take the track off down the road. The full on bassline is hitting us with real meaty funk grooves that wrap themselves around this soaring beast as the powering vocals lead the charge of this fantastic rock anthem that leaves us wanting more for sure.

On The Town – A crunching guitar riff oozes from the intro as a pounding bass kick lets this track erupt as the gravelly soaked vocals make themselves known to us as the twin assault continues as we feel the band really up the anti with this thundering slab of Thrash / Heavy Metal that just lets us know that this is a real special piece of music right here. The rhythm section is controlling the momentum of this killer track as the band really gives us blood, sweat and tears from the off as we just know that they have taken their time creating this incredible album that just gets better with each track, the harmonies are just awesome as the band seems to be really in tune with one another as this well thought out rock n roll juggernaut takes us on a sonic journey.

Don’t Lie To Me – Melodic chanting gets this rocking beast off the ground as the thundering rhythm section kicks in the doors and brings a heavy, groove laden beat that is just awesome. The shredding power riffed guitar onslaught is just on the money as this killer rock n roll monster builds and builds as we feel the sweat dripping from the track, the funking, dark, delicious bassline is wrapping itself around us as we let the groove carry us on down the road as this foot stomper grabs a hold of us and really lets us know that Fury means business. The melodic backing vocals really add depth and attitude to this almost gothic chanting beast as we sit and just revel in this melodic masterpiece that is just grabbing us and letting us know that we are in for a real treat with this kick ass piece of music. The band have really taken their time with this album and you can tell as it’s sharp, precise and brings attention to detail with every track.

In Pursuit Of Destiny – A slick, crisp guitar / bass lick are pouring from the track as soulful, powering vocals lead the charge of this fantastic track as we await the crunching beat to erupt. The rhythm section leans in and really offloads with a powerful snare drum kick that works so well with the punchy bass kicks that are letting this track open and soar, the funky groove is just grabbing us and letting us know that this is a real anthemic number that really lets the band express themselves with their musicality as the sizzling guitar licks are flowing effortlessly through the arrangement as the band digs deep and just lets their music do the talking. The growling, gritty guitar riffs are oozing freely through the track as the band takes us one way then the next with each track that offers something different with it’s texture, depth and swagger that is coming at us.

Can’t Resist (Gimme What I Need ) – Piano tones let this track come at us as we feel the tone wander freely through the opening tone as the crunching guitar licks punch us straight in the face with it’s raw energy. The gravelly vocals are pushing through as the track builds and builds as we feel the tone wrap itself around this sizzling rock n roll bruiser, the soaring twin vocals are just letting this track break free as the texture is just awesome as a face melting bassline drops in and tells it’s own story as we get taken away with the sheer quality of this epic slab of music that is just incredible. The band are firing on all cylinders let me tell you as we just get wrapped in the shredding, power riffed guitar assault that is coming at us, the fabulous vocals are feeding our appetites as we just lose ourselves in the sheer depth of this well thought out monster, foot stomping beast that is just soaring from the off.

Walk Away – A cool guitar pick opens the track as the dark, brooding bassline drops in and lets the track tell it’s own story as the colossal twin vocals really set the tone as we go on. Acoustic strumming chords are really letting the track breathe as we let the guys express themselves with their mellow infused lyrics that just catch our attention, the track is a sort of rock ballad with a twist that really lets you feel the emotion pouring from the guys as they deliver a sweet, melodic, tone driven track that lets us catch our breathe for a bit. The tempo changes pace mid section as a slick, crisp guitar solo erupts and lets the rhythm section come through with a real punchy, groove laden tone as the bass kicks wander effortlessly through the track as the soulful, melodic vocals lead the charge of this incredible arrangement.

Look At Us Now – A punchy, thundering rhythm section kicks off proceedings as the shredding power drenched guitar riffs really let this track come for us. A cool double bass kick sets the scene as this fast, furious rock n roll groover kicks in the doors as this thundering beast leaves it’s mark as we feel the groove wrap itself around us as the track builds and builds as solid, crunching tones are coming at us from all sides. The slick, clean guitar licks are working so well with a punchy rhythm section that is controlling the groove as a dark, delicious bassline drops in and gives this track swagger, depth and plenty for us to ponder as we just close our eyes and feel the weight of this colossal track as it crashes through the doors and really gives it to us big style.

DTR – From the off we get a crunching, deep guitar riff that has a pounding bass kick to give the track depth and attitude as the electrifying melodies bring this track to us kicking and screaming as it builds and builds. The killer bassline is just awesome as it soakes the track in mellow, delicious tones that really give this track something, the cool twin vocals are just kicking in the doors and letting us feel the energy from this exciting, thrash outfit who are just getting better and better with every release. The slick, crisp guitar riffs are shredding their way through this fist pumping, foot stomping melodic bruiser that has us nodding along to the cool vibes that are oozing from the groove as we feel the thundering rhythm section lean in and control the groove if this awesome number.

Undistilled – Sweet melodic backing vocals get the track off the ground as we get a heavy riffed guitar lick that wanders through the intro as the pounding snare drum beats let the track move. Vocals come through and we really feel the intensity flow as the soulful, toe tapping beat allows the track the room it needs to breathe and deliver a thought provoking tone that is the best way to finish this colossal album. The addition of soulful keys just elevates the track as it adds a little rocking blues to the track as we feel the slick, crisp solo melt our faces as it wanders freely through the track and leaves it’s mark as we really couldn’t ask for more from this sizzling 5 piece as they have given everything in this new album.
