Review By Darren McIntyre
Jacquie Roar is a country musician from Nashville, Tennessee, whose journey to national fame began on Season 24 of The Voice, where she wowed the audience with the Gretchen Wilson song ‘Here for the Party’, which earned her the coveted 4-chair turn. Jacquie made her highly anticipated Music City debut performing at CMA Music Fest, the Opry Plaza & Nashville’s legendary Whisky Jam, performing alongside Jamie O’Neal. Jacquie made history performing with Jelly Roll at Oregon State Penitentiary – the first live music event in the prison yard in over 2 decades. Jacquie is set to open for Cody Johnson, Riley Green, Nelly & Ian Musnick at the Pendleton Whisky Music Festival. Before that, Jacquie brought us the singles ‘Free’ & ‘Till The Gas Runs Out’ and follows that with ‘P.S.A.’, which I will be reviewing for you.
-the-chartsP.S.A. – A cool, funky guitar groove wanders through the intro as punchy bass kicks let the rhythm section bring the heat as Jacquie unleashes her colossal country, blues soaked vocals that really shake this track up. We have a sweet fiddle note flowing freely through the track as this foot stomping, kick ass track unfolds and really showcases the incredible musicanship oozing from Jacquie and the boys as this sweet, deep bruiser catches our attention and really soxks it to us. The punchy groove is a real earworm as the bassline drops in and delivers a funky, dark, delicious groove that wraps itself around the blistering vocals that are just off the chart good. We are getting crushing vocals from this exciting powerhouse musician who is just upping her game with every new track that shoots across my bow.
