Review By Darren McIntyre
Bywater Call are a powerhouse 7 – piece roots rock / Americana outfit from Toronto, Canada who are taking the world by storm one city at a time as they unleash their captivating lyrics, catchy grooves and a mesmerising stage presence that draws you in and takes you along for the ride. The band are riding on a crest of a wave right now as they unleash hit after hit and today is no exception as the drop their incredible soul stirring new track Is This Thing On which comes from their soon to be released new album Broken Souvenirs slated for release July 29th, please join me as I take us through this real thought provoking new offering.
Is This Thing On – We kick things off with a sweet, melodic acoustic strumming groove as Dave sets the tone for this incredible piece of music that is slowly unfolding. Meghan leans in and really lets the track breathe with her incredible vocals that just elevate the track to another level with it’s soul stirring tone and incredible lyrics that just grab your attention, the rhythm section keeps perfect timing as the bass kicks really drive the track onwards as we get smatterings of cool, mellow keys that just allow the track to open an soar for sure. The stringed section is really telling the story of this track as we feel the haunting tones linger throughout the arrangement as the duo really bring a softness that just tells us that the new album is going to be something special.
