Review By Darren McIntyre
rock ‘n’Mason Hill are a hard rock 5 – piece outfit from Glasgow who formed in 2015 but officially their journey began when school mates James &( former frontman Scott) began to write and thought of getting a band together, Craig came to the ranks followed by Matt in 2014 and finally 2015 sees Marc solidify this killer new outfit. 2023 sees the departure of Scott on medical grounds and opens the door for Tom Ward to slip in and bring his own stamp for this exciting quartet. The boys put together a couple of shows at the end of 2025 to let us feel the energy brought by the new lineup, the guys brought us single Remember at the tail end of last year and today they hit us with the blistering Twisted which I will be reviewing for you today. The band are gearing up for a UK Tour in March and I know the boys are working on a new album which has already been recorded so watch this space, in the meantime, please ready yourself for this awesome new slab of rock n roll.
Twisted – We get a synth-laden intro that is quickly followed by a colossal, thundering rhythm section as Craig shows us he has lost none of his signature firepower behind the kit. The crunching twin guitar assault is raising the bar for the boys as we feel a heavier, meatier groove that is flowing effortlessly through this killer track as Tom leans in with his gravelly, rasping vocals that wrap themselves around this fist-pumping beast as we immediately settle into our chair and feel the energy weaving its way through this thundering monster. The full-on bassline drops in and hits us with a real dirty, delicious groove that instantly gives the track depth, attitude and a real ballsy feel. The track is a real piece of work that instantly grabs our attention from the off, and we just want to be standing front and centre when this kickass track erupts from the boys when they roll their juggernaut show into Glasgow in March. There are instant likes around this track, as the soaring vocals just allow the track to breathe as we feel the hunger flowing through the music as the boys kick in the door and bring us a rockier, dirtier, heavier sound that I am sure will please their swelling fanbase.
