Review By Darren McIntyre
Sevendust is a hard/alt/nu metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, US, that originally formed in 1994. The boys have gained 3 consecutive RIAA Gold-certified albums and Grammy nominations and have sold millions of albums worldwide. The boys have toured the globe and opened for and played with acts like Skunk Anansie, Metallica, Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Black Stone Cherry & Disturbed; they even played Woodstock ’99 and lived to tell the tale. The boys have given us 14 studio albums, and on the 1st of May, the drop of the new offering, One, from that album comes the killer new single, Unbreakable, which I will be reviewing for you today.
Furious Double Bass – Unbreakable – We have a sampler tone wandering through the intro as mellow piano oozes into the track as it erupts with a crunching guitar salvo that brings this pounding beast to our attention. The pounding rhythm section hits us with a real solid snare kick that brings a heavy bass kick that wraps itself around this melodic rocker track that is building with each note that breaks free; the meaty, delicious, dark thumping bassline is dropping in and hitting us with a real soulful groove that allows the track to flourish. The vocals are really coming at us with such force that it grabs our attention and allows the boys to dig deep and really offload with such ease as this melodic rock ‘n’ roll groover tells its own story as the boys bring us a well-thought-out track that brings a furious double bass groove that really elevates the track as the boys deliver a real soulful track that just stops us in our tracks and then some.
