Jayler are a young, groovy, hip 4 – piece rock n roll juggernaut from the Midlands who burst onto the scene in 2022 and brought us their debut EP Piece In Our Time in 2023. The boys have been busy slaying stages up and down the country honing their sound & stage presence and are getting ready to take on the world, the boys have recently signed to Adam Parsons and are setting the wheels in motion to conquer the world in 2026. The boys have been busy in the studio putting the finishing touches to their debut album Voices Unheard slated for release May 29th, This past week has seen the boys jet off to Brazil to perform @ Monsters Of Rock and sharing the stage with the likes of Guns n Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd & Wygmie Malmsteen, as the boys continue their rollercoaster ride to the top. Today I have the pleasure of bringing you this blistering 11 track groove slab of pure magic. Please sit back, rab a cold one and ready yourself to be mesmerised by the sheer energy, depth and groove of this very talented 4 – piece from the Midlands.
Intro – A bluesy cool harmonica oozes from the intro as James unleashes a real sultry, mellow vocal that suits the intro to this colossal album perfectly.
Acool honky tonk harmonica tone ripples through the intro as track erupts into life with a thunderous bass / snare kick that really gets the juices flowing as the boys kick in the doors and let us ave it. James brings his rasping vocals to the party as the boys drop in with a cool, funking bassline that really brings a delicious, groove laden funk to the track, the pounding rhythm section controls the direction of this banger as the boys pour their heart and soul into this killer number. The fast, furious beast is a real thought provoking arrangement as the boys dig deep and really bring us a growling monster track that lets the tempo cut loose as we feel the energy wrapping itself around us as the track builds and builds into a furious groover track that has some real honky tonk tones with a smattering of Jizzy Pearl thrown in for good measure. This is one of thos etracks that will let the boys firmly plant their feet in the rock n roll genre as the hone their sound to perfection, a cool foot stomping bruiser that really grabs our attention and tells us that these boys are the real deal so we better watch out.
Riverboat Queen – A crunching guitar lick opens this account as the boys bring the groove with a real foot stomping, punchy beat that lets us feel the energy pulsing through their veins as they let their music do the talking. The musicality is plain to hear as they merge together with ease as the funky, meaty bassline drops in with a real deep, low end feel that just settles the track into it’s right lane, the rhythm section is commanding the room as Ed keeps perfect timing and really lets the song grow which is real refreshing as this fist pumping, meaty, groover grabs our attention as James bellows out with his unmistakeable vocals that just allow the track to tell it’s own story as the boys settle into their stride and really ramp up the heat.
Need Your Love – An eerie calm decends into the intro as the boys ready us for a rocking groove that immediately catches our attention as this foot stomping, punchy beat comes at us with all it has. The crunching, gritty guitar riffs are weaving their way through this catchy bruiser as James leans in with his unmistakeable vocals that really get the juices flowing as the boys hit the ground running with a real barnstorming arrangement that just ticks all the boxes, the dark, meaty funk laden bassline drops in and hits us with real delicious tones that work so well in this bruising monster as the catchy beat flows freely through the track. The whole piece is just a cool, mellow, funky foot stomping track that will certainly wake you up in the morning with it’s blistering, soulful vocals and a cool rhythm section that commands the direction as it hits us with a cool snare / bass combo that tells us that the boys are ready, willing & able to shake us to our very foundations with this gutsy, ballsy fist pumping track that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
The Getaway – A dirty, gritty, rasping guitar salvo erupts as this fast paced, toe tapping monster comes to life as the boys continue to really push the boundaries with this classy, slick slab of rock n roll. The boys are settling into the music very well and sound like they have been at it for years tbh as they deliver catchy, melodic licks that stop us in our tracks as the tone really pops as the vocals run effortlessly through the arrangement. The melodies are jusr sensational as the punchy rhythm section kicks in and brings a real softness to the track as the tempo changes pace several times through the composition as we get a slick, crisp guitar salvo that just intensifies this crackin little bruiser. The boys are really putting everything into this record and you can certainly tell as the production just oozes quality and dazzle.
Bittersweet – Acoustic strumming tones flow from the intro as the boys bring a softer, melodic track to our attention as James leans in with his soulful vocals and lets the tone wrap itself around as as we hear a different side to the boys. A dark, brooding bassline drops in and really delivers a sweetness that captures the boys in their element as they deliver different textures, tones, melodies and really let us know that they are ready to take on all comers and then some. The lyrics are just transporting us to another place as the boys just take it up a notch as they really let us inside their inner sanctum as they just tell us that they are going to grab this opportunity with both hands and take us along for the journey, I can tell you that Jacemediamusic were one of the first media outlets to see and hear these boys for the first time and I can tell you I saw something extra special right in front of my eyes.
Hate To See It End – A cool, heavy rumbling rhythm section kicks things off as this crunching 70’s style groover opens up and lets us feel the energy oozing from this fantastic 4 – piece as they set out their stall for all to hear. The cool, funky low end leans in and hits us with a real cool, groove laden beat that gets the toe tapping and the fists pumping as this cool number builds and builds and lets the boys really express themselves as they shift through the gears and up the anti with every new track, the vocals are raw, sharp, melodic, on point and really tell us what these boys are all about. The addition of the keys really lifts the track as it adds depth, tone and bags of attitude to this rousing beast as the boys dig deep, cut loose and really let us feel the tone rushing through their veins as this kick ass track plants the boys firmly on a main stage where they should most definitely be.
Over The Mountain – A crunching guitar riff flows freely from the intro as this groovy, toe tapping monster makes itself known to us as the slick arrangement builds with ease as the boys show us the road. The vocals are sharp, melodic and really add depth to the track as they blend well with the arrangement as the punchy rhythm section leans in and allows the track to grow with a solid snare beat that works well with the texture of the track. The full on, dark, melodic low end really adds tone and depth to the track as we really get to grips with the boys and what they are trying to achieve with this awesome debut record that just smacks you right in the face with it’s intensity, groove, swagger and attitude that will carry these boys far let me tell you. The 4 young horsemen are really grabbing every opportunity and running with it as they are hot property right now and so deserved.
Alectrona – Another gritty rasping guitar salvo kicks in the doors as the boys lay down their souls with this foot stomping groover that just puts a smile on your face with it’s punchy tone, melodic feel and real energetic vocals that really let the track breathe. The rhythm section is controlling the direction of the song as the boys lean in and really let their musicality shine through as they take us on the journey with them as they want to share what they have created and it is something rather special, the dark, meaty low end really adds depth and mystery to the track as the boys just feel the music as it runs through their veins.A slick guitar solo hits us and just feels right as the tone wraps itself around us and lets us feel the pure determination oozing from this Midlands 4 – piece as they tell us to strap in and watch out as they are coming for us.
Lovemaker – A cool 70’s inspired guitar lick opens the track as Zeppelin inspired drum fills let the track breathe as the boys settle into their stride with ease as James pours his vocals into the track as it builds and builds. The rhythm section is kicking off with a real solid snare punch as the bass kicks seal the deal with toe tapping cymbal snaps that let the track deliver a full on punchy tone that really pops, the harmonica tones really elevate the track as the tone works it’s way through the arrangement as a sweet, melodic guitar solo erupts and lets the boys showcase their insane talent that just puts a smile on your face. The album is a real shot in the arm with it’s fresh approach that really allows the boys to be themselves but also bring 70’s inspired elements to their music which is refreshing.
The Rinsk – Finishing off with a real banger comes a crunching, foot stomping guitar lick that is accompanied by a dark, meaty bassline that just drops in and really lets us feel the tone oozing from the boys. The guitarwork is just insane as they groove builds and really lets the boys bring us their sound that is just texture laden with a real smattering of 70’s rock n roll tones that just lets the track sing, the vocals are soaring and telling us that the boys really mean business and then some as the tempo changes pace a little and lets the drum fills lead the track as the keys simply rumble through the arrangement and let the
boys do what they do best, play good ol rock n roll music that instantly puts a smile on your face. The crunching guitar licks are really adding depth, tone and attitude to this groover as they dig deep show us what they are made of tell us come see what the fuss is all about.
The boys have stopped at the station and are inviting you to get on and take the ride of your life, do yourself a favour and hop on and take the journey with the boys as I tell you that it is something you won’t forget.
