Review By Darren McIntyre
Wolverine are a progressive metal band from Soderhamn, Gavleborg, Sweden, who originally formed in 1995 and brought us 5 studio albums. The boys have been working on a new album, their first in over a decade, and bring us Anomalies, and from that they delivered the first single, This World & All Its Dazzling Lights, which got everyone excited for what was to come. The new album is Wolverine at their most contrasting, with beautiful sweeping hooks; however, something darker lies beneath. The boys bring us the follow-up single Nightfall, which I will be reviewing for you today.

Nightfall – We have an eerie, haunting intro that lets the synth, keys and sampler tones linger through the intro as the punchy rhythm section leans in with a cool, melodic groove as the soulful, towering, haunting vocals lead the charge. The crisp guitar licks weave their way through the arrangement and really give the track direction as the sultry, delicious bassline drops in and really allows the track to breathe as this cinematic wonderment really dazzles with ease. The musicality is just astounding as the boys pour everything into this mesmerising piece as the tempo builds with ease as the punchy snare drum beats flow freely through the colossal track. The soaring guitar solo is just spellbinding as the punchy bass kicks let the groove work its magic as the track changes direction as the haunting, soulful vocals lead the charge as the boys shift through the gears and really deliver something special with this 6-minute masterpiece that just builds and builds as the band tell their story of how this album will shape the future of this colossal band and what they will bring to the future of progressive metal.
