FangSlinger are a UK-based band forging a distinctive sound where dark western, gothic Americana and hard rock collide. With a string of singles and their debut EP We Are the Night, they introduced us to a world of outlaw anti-heroes and lost souls, built on groove-driven riffs, rich vocal layers, and vivid, character-driven writing.

Imagine a cocktail of Guns N’ Roses mixed with Black Stone Cherry, with a garnish of Johnny Cash, and you’ll get a sense of FangSlinger’s knack for blending influences into something genuinely tasty. Only formed in 2024, they’ve wasted no time establishing the band on the grassroots scene. Opening with the heavy As The Crow Flies, they hit hard from the off. It’s dark and brooding, with FangSlinger leading the tale through rich vocal layers and powerful guitar work that pushes everything along with a real sense of grit, it’s a statement opener that pulls you straight into their world.
Bare Your Teeth is a favourite track, and they take no prisoners here, it’s got everything going on. With BloodRose joining on lead vocals, it’s rocking out from the off and impossible not to get caught up in, whether you’re stomping your foot or nodding your head, or even baring your fangs! The musicianship is solid and powerful, matching the vocals perfectly and giving the track real bite.
Blood Curse brings things back down with a western twang that steadily builds into something far more epic, the music layers in drama and tension as it unfolds. That flows nicely into Blood Sucker Blues, where FangSlinger’s strong, unmistakable vocal tone cuts through with real urgency, backed brilliantly by the rest of the trio. It’s a great example of how well they work as a unit, with all three contributing vocally and giving the album real depth and texture.
Children of Sorrow shifts gear with a different tone, with guitar work that bends and twists beautifully throughout. There’s a strong bluesy energy running through it that adds another layer to their sound. The atmosphere carries into He Rides A Pale Horse, which follows undead outlaws on the run after their soul-hunting exploits are exposed. There’s a real tension running through it as the chase closes in, playing on that question of whether they keep running or turn to face what’s coming, all brought to life through beautifully blended vocals and clear delivery that lets the lyrics take centre stage.
The energy lifts again with On Leather Wings, as BloodRose kicks things off, bringing a fresh dynamic and showing off the strength of this three-piece. That momentum carries into The Lost Souls Saloon, which plays out in a more cinematic fashion, with great vocals, strong backing lines and deep, textured music all working together to bring the scene to life.
For such a new band, they’ve completely nailed their concept, and it’s obvious how much work has gone into getting it just right. The album captures that vision perfectly, and Wanted Undead is another fantastic track that carries the theme brilliantly. It’s one of my favourites, I love how it eases you in, drawing you into the layered vocals readying you for FangSlinger to take over as the beat builds and the story unfolds.
There’s a real sense of foreboding with We Are The Night, the title track from their EP released last year and the final song on the album. It builds at a steady pace, with beautiful guitar work giving the track a different tone and a raw edge when the solos kick in. It’s yet another anthem that highlights the talent of FangSlinger, BloodRose and HangMan.
This is a great fusion of styles that really stands out. You invest in the characters, how they work together, and how they bring these dark western tales to life.
FangSlinger deliver it all on their debut album, with a fresh twist, western grit, and a sharp gothic bite, marking a bold and confident first chapter. Its definitely worth getting your teeth into on release day!
