An Unflinching Slice Of Guilt, Grief And Emotional Honesty
There are songs designed to entertain, and then there are songs like “Epitaph” from The Entitled Sons that stop you in your tracks and demand your attention. Set for release on 12th June, the single sees the rising UK rock outfit step into far darker and emotionally heavier territory than ever before — and the result is genuinely powerful.
“Epitaph” does not search for easy answers or dramatic resolution. Instead, it sits in the uncomfortable silence left behind after tragedy, exploring the guilt and helplessness of those who believed they were paying attention but now question everything. That emotional honesty is what gives the track its real impact. Rather than relying on overblown theatrics, the band allow the weight of the lyrics to do the talking.
“This is not just another rock single — it is a conversation people are often too afraid to have.”
Musically, the song balances haunting melodies with restrained intensity, allowing the emotion to build naturally. The Entitled Sons continue to show impressive maturity in their songwriting, proving their evolution from viral success story into a genuinely credible modern rock band.
Following the success of their debut album No Clue, sold-out UK shows, and landmark performances at venues like O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, “Epitaph” feels like another huge step forward creatively.
Raw, reflective and deeply human, this is easily one of the band’s most important releases to date.
