A Powerful, Definitive Tribute to One of Music’s Most Explosive Collaborations Review By Halina Wegner Few partnerships in modern music history have burnt as brightly—or as boldly—as the collision of Eric Burdon and WAR. Now, more than fifty years since their first recording sessions reshaped the boundaries of funk, rock, Latin, jazz, [more…]

Review BY Halina Wagner Progressive rock has always been a home for ambition, imagination, and fearless commentary—but few modern bands deliver all three with the cohesion and conviction of Little King. Their latest album, Lente Viviente, arriving as a tightly packed 25-minute odyssey, is a masterclass in how to build something vast [more…]

KNIVES – REGLITTER I Words by Phil Ingham Bristolian six-piece Knives dropped their debut album ‘GLITTER’ in May 2025, an eleven-song slab of post-punk chaos that met with critical acclaim. Not a group to rest on their laurels, they have now released a follow-up EP ‘REGLITTER I’. For this one, the band [more…]

Review By Ian Walker With Bang, her powerful debut album, Iona Zajac steps boldly out of the shadows as The Pogues’ new voice and into a sonic world entirely her own. Released on 21 November, the record is a blistering, vulnerable, and defiantly human exploration of trauma, healing, desire, and the complicated [more…]

Review By Glen Parkes Few bands arrive fully formed, but when Fine Young Cannibals burst onto the scene in 1985, they did exactly that. With Johnny Come Home—a debut single as sharp as broken glass and as soulful as a Motown deep cut—they announced themselves as one of the most distinctive and [more…]

The band have been championed as ‘Australia’s Next Big Import’, who are gaining a rising reputation throughout the music scene. The band have released a slew of singles, and today [more…]

EP – RISE REVIEWER – GRAEME WRIGHT Fireheart has already released the song of the year in my book, which was ‘Staring At The Sun’, which hit the streets back in April. The band themselves are sort of a supergroup in my eyes, featuring two of my favourite musicians, Russ Grimmett, the [more…]

The band take their name from Bonnie Parker & Clyde Barrow, who were the infamous bank robbers in the 1930s Great [more…]

Reviewed by Skid I’m still not entirely sure how to pronounce the band’s name — is it tacky-pea-nick or tuh-kip-nik? Either way, before this record, Takipnik had completely flown under my radar. What I do know now is that they hail from Denver, USA, formed in 2019, and as a three-piece have [more…]
