Where The Drill, Lincoln

Nu-metal band Anti-Clone, have roared back onto the scene, reinvented and more intense than ever. Having just signed to Prime Collective they have embarked on a tour featuring their new material and tonight they were at The Drill in Lincoln with their Halloween Show.

The night features four bands and kicked off at 7.30pm.

Blunt Scalpel

The heavy hardcore band opened the night with an intense energy, pouring every ounce of emotion into their powerful heavy songs. Each song hit hard, and the energy was soaked up by their followers, who were dancing about at the barrier.

At one point the singer left the stage and joined the crowd, handing the mic to fans who passionately sang the song for him, leaving people wondering where the vocals were coming from as the singer headed back on to the stage.

You can find out more about them by following them on their socials.

Inhabit UK

Liverpool band Inhabit UK brought a different vibe to the proceedings with their brand of heavy music. With a new album released last month called ‘Burnout’ they showcased songs from it that had me intrigued enough to have a listen to it.

With Halloween masks on show the band brought a distinct energy to the night and turned things up a notch. Their performance highlighted the versatility of their frontman, Chop, whose dynamic vocal range and rapping rival’s the likes of Limp Bizkit’s frontman, Fred Durst. Accompanied by Nathan, Sam and Kieran, the band make a phenomenal sound and they had me hooked.

They gave the audience a taste of what they’re all about and showcased their musical style to perfection. Their set was powerful and engaging, and their intense stage presence and tight sound left a lasting impression. Check out the video link below for a taster of the band.

Moskito

Next up are Moskito, a band who I’ve been raving about since I first saw them, and one I can’t implore you enough to go and see them live.

With the theme Halloween, the guys took to the stage…………dressed as old women! With handbags and grey wigs, dresses, and nighties they danced into position and kicked off with Killing Joke, a massive tune that had the crowd singing along. They followed this with ‘Loser,’ ‘Clinomania,’ which are songs from their G.R.I.M. EP, an EP that should be in everyone’s collection. They also included a couple of new songs that slotted perfectly into their set with one being a tribute to people they have lost this year, something that resonated with a few members of the crowd. ‘Gone With The Girl Next Door’ was their closing number and one that had the audience singing along loudly to its chorus, including two tone deaf men standing right behind me!

The band has an ability to craft powerful songs, that cover a diverse range of musical tastes with their unique sound, blending influences from the likes of Frank Carter, Marilyn Manson and The Artic Monkeys. It puzzles me as to why a major label hasn’t recognised their potential and snapped them up, because in my humble opinion, they are destined for a bigger stage and with the right backing, it’s only a matter of time before they’re headlining major festivals.

Anti-Clone

It’s now time for the finale of what has been a fantastic night. As the lights go down, and the anticipation builds, Anti-Clone took to the stage with an expected excitement from the crowd. With painted faces they launched into a relentless set that struck every chord with the audience. Each track flowing seamlessly from raw, visceral energy to melodic, angst-filled songs with every beat honed and precise.

It’s clear the time away has refined their focus; they have locked onto a path that amplifies what they truly love about their music, and it shows. Throw into the melting pot, influences from Marilyn Manson, Korn and Nine Inch Nails and the result is an aggressive, dark yet melodic intense assault on the ears that is Anti-Clone.

Hearing ‘God Nothing’ their latest single, performed live for the first time was a powerful experience, it is everything that defines their sound: a blend of unrestrained passion, melody, and fierce musicianship. What a tune!

The night peaked with a fantastic encore, as they played a crowd-pleasing cover of ‘The Beautiful People,’ a classic Marilyn Manson track, which happens to be a favourite of mine, so I was happily bopping about thoroughly enjoying myself. Then for the final song, which was one of their own, they invited members from the other bands to join them. With everyone on stage singing and dancing they shared their captivating energy, maybe fuelled by a few drinks! The crowd lapped it all up, what a fitting way to end the night.

With a new EP mentioned for release in the new year, Anti-Clone’s momentum is undeniable, and their honed direction, going by tonight’s performance has set high expectations. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, this is only the beginning of the bands exciting rebirth, and I look forward to seeing where it takes them.

They have a few dates in the diary so check out their socials for them and get yourself out to hear some great live music.
