Review By Darren McIntyre
Abbinormal are a death metal outfit from Milan, Italy, who formed in 1996 but were reborn in 2017. The band in their time have shared the stage with the likes of Gutalax, Crowbar, Left To Die, Terrorhammer, Hideous Divinity, Exilia, The Modern Age Slavery, Schizo, Hour Of Penance, Node & Genus Ordinis Dei, to name but a few. The boys return with a new album, Italia’s Gore Talent, on the 5th December. To whet our appetites for the new album, the boys drop their thundering new single, Acid / Disease, which I will be reviewing for you today.
Acid / Disease – A haunting keys section ripples through the intro as a shredding, power-driven guitar lick comes at us as the rhythm section leans in with a pounding snare/bass beat that lets the cymbal crashes rain down on us. The galloping speed metal guitar riffs combine with a rousing rhythm section that delivers a punchy snare drum-driven beat that stops for a second, then kicks in the doors, and off we go again with the growler, dark, brooding vocals that wrap themselves around this soaring, dark arrangement. The full-on bassline drops in with cool, meaty beats that work ever so well in this thundering beast as it offloads with a rumbling beat that just sets the tone as these boys ready us for the incoming new album.
