Molly Karloff – Faceless single review

RTIST – MOLLY KARLOFF

SINGLE – FACELESS

REVIEWER – GRAEME WRIGHT

Everybody I know that has heard Molly Karloff or seen them in the live show arena thinks they are great. The band are all about massive riffs combined with a big dirty grunge sound that always runs in tandem with extremely well written emotional songs that are both intense and immediate. Molly Karloff have a rabidly loyal fanbase that has a real connection with the boys in the band and this love is repaid with a plethora of live shows each year across the length and breadth of the country.

The new single ‘Faceless’ is the best song they have ever produced. It’s takes some of the bands familiar themes (retaining an individual identity, pushing back against society’s expectations and refusing to conform with expected norms), but wraps the whole package up with a huge layer of emotion and crisp, insistent performances from every member of the band who are all at the top of their game here. The production is raw and exciting and the song is never overwhelmed with fancy studio trickery and is instead all about confidence and attitude.

I’d like to comment on the video for this song as well. It’s a black and white film noir homage that pays tribute to that genre – it is gritty and dark and is a perfect accompaniment to the song. There’s clearly a film buff in the ranks of Molly Karloff and it looks incredibly accomplished and expensive, a real eye opener. In conclusion, a great song from a great band and I’ll definitely be out to see them on their 2026 tour. I’ll see you all in Blackpool!
