King Kraken – ‘Shadows Fall’: South Wales Metal Gets Darker

King Kraken have never been a band afraid of making some serious noise, but ‘Shadows Fall’ takes the South Wales rock/metal four-piece somewhere considerably darker. Inspired by found-footage horror, particularly The Blair Witch Project, the new single feels like stepping into the woods knowing something is following you.

From the opening catchy riff, King Kraken grab you by the neck and refuse to let go. The verses bring a stronger melodic edge before the song crashes into a gritty, aggressive chorus, creating exactly the sense of a journey becoming increasingly sinister.

Recorded at Longwave Studios, Cardiff, and engineered, mixed and mastered by Romesh Dodangoda and Tom Cory, the production gives the track plenty of weight without sacrificing its hooks.

Following the success of 2025’s March of the Gods, which earned national radio support and strong rock and metal press coverage, King Kraken are clearly building momentum.

‘Shadows Fall’ is dark, riff-heavy and seriously addictive. The Kraken is getting bigger, louder and nastier.
