Review By Glen Parkes
Tyler Bryant steps into new territory with “Planted,” his second release as a solo artist. Known to many as the fiery leader of The Shakedown, Bryant strips things back here, offering a piece that feels both intimate and resolute.
The song, shaped by memories of his Texas childhood, leans into the idea of growth through struggle. Just as a garden requires patience and resilience, so too does the act of creating and living with intention. Written during a period of personal challenge, “Planted” feels like Bryant’s way of digging himself out of a darker place—and in doing so, he invites listeners to find their own strength. The recording carries the intimacy of a back-porch session under Southern skies. The result is a piece that feels timeless, like it could echo across a Texas plain or through a Nashville honky-tonk.
Following the grit of “Falling Up,” this latest effort reveals another side of Bryant—one willing to sit still, reflect, and show vulnerability. “Planted” isn’t just a song; it’s a reminder that grounding yourself, even in uncertain times, can be the most powerful act of all.
