Asia are a progressive rock/AOR band from London, England, who originally formed in 1981 and gave us 13 studio albums, with the last being Gravitas in 2014. Like most bands, they have had several changes in personnel but have tried to keep the music the main focus. Original founding member Geoff Downes has assembled a stellar cast of musicians who have kept the music of Asia alive to this very day. The boys recently joined Frontiers Music Srl and will be releasing their new album, Asia – Live. In England slated for release March 13th, from that record comes the uplifting single Only Time Will Tell, which I will be reviewing for you today. Please sit back as I take us through this exciting new offering.

Only Time Will Tell – We begin with a cool synth intro that allows the cymbal snaps to bring the rhythm section to our ears as the mellow guitar pick wanders freely through the track. The soothing, melodic vocals light up the track as the foot-stomping, dark, delicious bassline drops in and really lets the track breathe as we feel the energy oozing from the track. The slick, melodic synth tones are weaving their way through this fantastic arrangement as the boys compliment the musicality as it builds and builds with ease as we get to grips with this awesome piece. The lyrics are timeless and really grab our attention as the boys bring back the sound of yesteryear that just sounds as good now as it did back then; we are transported back to an arena somewhere and really feel the authenticity rolling through this classic track.
