Dead Reynolds – Tear Through This Album With Raw Energy, Big Hooks, And A Sound That Never Lets Up.

Album – Yellow Weather Warning

Release Date – 24th April 2026

Review by Linda McDermott

Hailing from East Anglia, Dead Reynolds blend alternative rock and pop-punk with big anthemic melodies and plenty of twists that keep the sound fresh. Full-on and energetic, they are fuelled by passion, determination, and heart. Their songs are inspired by real-life struggles that hit hard, with lyrics tackling mental health, addiction, and loss.

Consisting of Rossco Cornwell – Vocals, Dom Greenwood – Guitar/backing vocals,

Ben Knowles – Lead guitar, Luke Green – Drums, and Zena Holland – Bass, they have honed a sound that has high impact and energy.

Fans of Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park, Those Damn Crows, Yungblud, Massive Wagons, or Papa Roach will find plenty to enjoy here. From their debut album Breathe With Strangers to a string of strong singles, the band have proven themselves live, and I can vouch for that. This new album shows Dead Reynolds building on that foundation, growing their sound, and pushing forward.

The opening track on any album is so important as it needs to hook you in, and with twelve songs to choose from, it’s no easy task for a band. Animal is an excellent choice, built around a punchy driving beat, it grabs you and instantly says, buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Sliding nicely into Count Me Out keeps that momentum going and leans into heavier riffs and a more aggressive edge. It is a song I reviewed last year with the heading, ‘Dead Reynolds – Ones to Watch,’ which I repeat as often as I can without being

weird. They follow this with one of my favourites, Drowning. It has a real urgency that pulls you in and doesn’t let go, with powerful guitar work that drives the track and highlights the vocals.

Dead Reynolds have anthems in abundance, and recent single, Face Me, pulls you straight into its layered harmonies and strong hook-filled chorus, carrying a message about facing the uncomfortable truth about the choices we make, being honest with yourself, and finding a way to move forward. These lyrics add real weight to the energy the band are so good at delivering.

Next comes Hesitate, a great track that has pop punk running through it. It has a fast-paced, upbeat feel and a chorus built for loud singalongs at gigs and festivals, with a bit of air guitar thrown in for good measure. The energy carries on with Hide Away, which marks the halfway point of this cracking album and keeps the energy high without losing focus. Rossco, Dom, Luke, Ben, and Zena clearly bring a wide range of influences, and they have fused them into a sound that does not sit in one place. It moves across the rock spectrum and gives you a fusion of music, which really works.

Hurricane brings in a heavier, driving beat that is impossible not to nod along to, taking you on another punchy, high-energy ride. There is no doubting the band’s ability, and this second album deserves to be recognised.

Just when you think you have the band figured out, they throw in a cover. Not one you might expect either, as they take on Robbie Williams’ Let Me Entertain You. It is a bold choice, but it works. It is a singalong favourite (like it or not) that everyone knows and always goes down brilliantly at a gig. They give the song more punch, and Rossco adds a bit of an edge that makes it their own.

It works as a great break in the album before getting straight back to business with Parasite, kicking things back into gear with a driving rhythm and energy that jumps straight out the speakers.

Pieces and Someone Else keep the momentum building. They both carry that summer feeling, the kind where you are in a field with friends, the sun is out, and the band are playing. It is a feeling that is hard to beat, and these tracks capture it well.

The final song, Wake Up, is one of their earlier singles and fits perfectly here. It adds to that summer vibe and has everything you want to close the album out strong, a thumping beat, a singalong chorus, and a band giving it everything.

Dead Reynolds deliver a high-energy, hook-filled album that blends alternative rock and pop-punk with real heart and plenty of twists. From punchy beats to soaring choruses and powerful riffs, every track shows off their range and live-ready energy. This second album proves they are a band to watch, it’s full of anthems and songs that stick. What’s not to love about that?

The band are having an album release party at The Met Lounge in Peterborough on Saturday 25th April and are shooting a video on the night. If you want to be part of it all and support the band you can get tickets from the following website.
