Review by Linda McDermott
Hailing from the heart of Edinburgh, Holyrude Vault are a five-piece hard rock outfit formed in 2021 by lead guitarist Connell and vocalist JT. Brought together by a shared love of straight-ahead rock ’n’ roll, the band wear their influences proudly, drawing inspiration from the legendary sounds of Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe and Aerosmith.
The line-up continued to take shape over the following years, with drummer Chris joining in 2022 and adding plenty of groove and power to the mix. Early 2024 saw bassist Christian and rhythm guitarist Nick complete the Holyrude Vault family, giving the band the line-up that has helped them make their mark on the live circuit.

Since then, Holyrude Vault have built a reputation for energetic performances, playing sell-out headline shows and sharing stages with the likes of Gilby Clarke, Chris Holmes and Kickin Valentina. Their music is rooted in attitude, swagger and the kind of hard rock that wears its heart on its sleeve, combining classic influences with a modern edge and a healthy dose of no-frills rock ’n’ roll.
With a growing following and a reputation for bringing plenty of energy to the stage, Holyrude Vault are determined to keep the spirit of hard rock alive and kicking. Now the heavy rockers are back with their latest single Skin N’ Bones and it wastes no time showing you what Holyrude Vault are all about.
Skin ‘n’ Bones is a raw and ready blast of hard rock with a solid musical backbone that drives the track forward. The rhythm section keeps everything moving with purpose, while the guitars inject plenty of energy and keep the uptempo mood throughout, giving the song a loud and powerful feel. There’s a gritty, no-frills approach to the arrangement that suits the band’s style and allows the music to do the talking. As drummer Chris explains, “Skin ‘n’ Bones is about constantly being chased by debts and doing whatever it takes to avoid or get away from it all.” It’s a theme many listeners will relate to, wrapped up in a track that carries the attitude and swagger that Holyrude Vault has made their own.
The band will be playing at Wildfire Festival at Wanlockhead in Scotland at the end of the month so if you want to hear it live…………
