Eleine – ‘We Stand United’ EP

Symphonic Power Metal

Reigning Phoenix Music

Release Date – September 5th 2025

Review By Smudge Smith

My exposure to Eleine is limited. I had the chance to see them at Masters Of Rock 2024 in Czechia but I was tempted by a distillery tour which was within the grounds of the festival site. More fool me because they sounded awesome judging by the two tracks on offer here from that very festival.

Opener ‘Promise Of Apocalypse’ is powerful and not a guitar in site as singer Madeleine ‘Eleine’ Liljestrom sings over the orchestration before the virtual call to prayer of ‘Towards The Fields’. The title track brings the guitars up front and centre with Rikard Ekberg and Victor Jonasson giving it large on the crunchy riff and Ekberg providing the gruff vocals. Jeez this is a banger. Symphonic power metal at its best and hopefully a good example of what to expect form a forth coming album. We get the live tracks from Masters Of Rock 2024 – ‘Never Forget’ is huge and rattles along on the double kick of drummer Filip Stalberg before the equally huge ‘We Are Legion’ which stomps around with concrete boots and has those gruff vocals from Ekberg again.

I didn’t realise but Eleine have never issued any live tracks before, well these just show what they can do. They’re touring Europe soon with Primal Fear – that will be worth catching and hopefully they will make it to the UK where I will definitely catch them and forego any free alcohol. This is awesome and needs to be heard.
