Review By Darren McIntyre
Jacquie Roar is a country musician from Nashville, Tennessee, whose journey to national fame began on Season 24 of The Voice, where she wowed the audience with the Gretchen Wilson song ‘Here For The Party’, which earned her the coveted 4-chair turn. Jacquie made her highly anticipated Music City debut performing at CMA Music Fest, the Opry Plaza & Nashville’s legendary Whisky Jam. Performing alongside Jamie O’Neal, Jacquie made history performing with Jelly Roll @ Oregon State Penitentiary – the first live music event in the prison yard in over 2 decades. Jacquie has opened for Cody Johnson, Riley Green, Nelly & Ian Musnick @ Pendelton Whisky Music Festival; before that, Jacquie brought us singles Free & Till The Gas Runs Out, P.S.A., and Tool’s ‘The Pot’. Jacquie was recently recognised with the Vocal Powerhouse Award @ The Woman Of Country Music Awards 2025 and will be opening for Max McNown on Feb 7th @ Portland, Oregon. Jacquie returns with her blistering banger of a track, Bone Shaker, which I will be reviewing for you.
Bone Shaker – Banjo / fiddle tones ripple through the intro as a pounding bass kick lets the rhythm section kick in the doors as this colossal country / blues rocker melts our faces. The soaring, melodic vocals come at us and really let this track come to life as we feel the energy pulsing through Jacquie’s veins as we get a real bruising track that just showcases what this incredible artist is all about; the killer musicianship is just allowing the track to build as we get a thundering snare drum kick that works well with the cool low end that really sets our pulses soaring. The crisp, gritty guitar riffs are adding depth to this thigh-slapping, fist-pumping monster track that just lets the groove flow with ease as the band wraps their incredible sound all around this killer track. The incredible, husky, country, blues-soaked vocals are just incredible as they whisk us away on the journey with Jacquie as she lets this delicious number grab us by the scruff of the neck and shake us till we hit the repeat button for sure. This young lady is destined for bigger things, and remember, you heard it here, and I want to say, ‘I told you so.’
